Born in Los Angeles, of Purepecha descent. Art and education have always been intertwined parts of my life. In my early adulthood I began grassroots organizing weekly circles, book clubs, workshops, social gatherings, and actions (where Paloma and I met). Other art forms I've engaged in are modeling, DJing, acting, and movement art. Before moving to the Bay Area, I worked in Special Education preschool and elementry. Since then I've worked at a Forest Freedom school. My passion lies working with the littles. I am an avid hiker, lover of bodies of water, and matriarch in the making.
I believe in intentional teaching of belonging and becoming from a decolonial perspective. Cultivating community with empathy and secure attachments. Born in East Los Angeles, with lineages connected to Oaxaca, Mexico. Being an artist is my culture, and my medicine; I bring that energy of curiosity and creation to the circles I am in. I have dabbled in music production, song writing, and live performing. Also, I owned a merchandise buisiness, where I designed my own clothing with inspiration from my culture. Now, as an educator I bring all that knowledge, and spark to my teachings. In my spare time I enjoy hiking, camping, and spending time with my family. I adore going to community events, fundraisers and gatherings.
